14th Asia Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering Congress 2012

Enabling Sustainable Development Through Creative & Innovative Chemical Engineering

The APCChE 2012 (The 14th Asia Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering) will be held in Singapore on 21 – 24 February 2012. This congress aims to enhance communication among researchers and practitioners from Asian countries working in the area of Chemical Engineering.

The APCChE was founded in 1975 through the efforts of Professor T. Mizushima of Kyoto University, Japan. It was formed to provide a focus for various non-profit societies, associations and institutions working in the field of Chemical Engineering in the Asia Pacific region. APCChE comprises of member Societies in 13 countries and regions, namely: China, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, India, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (UK) are corresponding members.

Call for Papers

The APCChE 2012 (The 14th Asia Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering) will be held in Singapore on 21 – 24 February 2012. This congress aims to enhance communication among researchers and practitioners from Asian countries working in the area of Chemical Engineering.

Papers for oral presentation will be selected based on a one-page abstract (not more than 300 words). Abstracts submitted must include the title of the paper, authors’ names, e-mails and affiliations. Abstract should be submitted on-line by 15 July 2011.

The International Scientific Committee comprising experts from various fields will evaluate and screen the abstracts, and recommend suitable abstracts for inclusion in the conference. The authors with accepted abstracts will then be invited to submit full papers for inclusion into the proceedings.

The final decision of acceptance in the conference will be based on the registration of at least one author for each paper.

We encourage you to submit abstracts for either oral or poster presentations on the following topics:

  • Macromolecular Science and Engineering
  • Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering
  • Systems and Synthetic Biology
  • Synthesis and Processing of Nanomaterials
  • Energy
  • Biochemical Engineering / Biofuel
  • Membrane Science & Technology for Emerging Applications
  • Thermodynamics and Molecular Simulations
  • Biosensors and Biomolecules on Solid Surfaces
  • Transport Phenomena
  • Microfluidics for Chemistry and Life Sciences
  • Separation Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future
  • Catalysis and Reaction Engineering
  • Green and Sustainable Processes
  • Chemical Engineering Education
  • Chem-E-Car Competition
  • Process Systems Engineering
  • Environmental Science & Technology
  • Industry – Petrochemical, Special Chemicals, Polymers, Semiconductors
  • Industry – Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Health Care and Home Products
  • Bioenergy from Biomass

Abstract Submission

Papers for oral and poster presentations will be selected based on an abstract (between 150-300 words). Abstract must be submitted through the on-line Abstract and Paper Submission System by 15 July 2011. The official language of this conference is English.

Please note the following points when you are submitting your abstract(s):

  • If you are a first-time user of the on-line Abstract and Paper Submission System, you must first sign-up(register) to use the system.
  • Abstracts are to be submitted via the abstract text box in the System. You can submit as many abstracts as you want. However do note that each registered author on standard delegate rate can present a maximum of 2 papers and a registered author on student rate can present a maximum of 1 paper.
  • You will be requested to indicate your preferred presentation mode: Oral or Poster. However the Technical Committee reserves the final right to decide the presentation mode for your paper.
  • APCChE 2012 strongly encourages authors to submit a full paper describing their work for inclusion in the conference proceedings. However, APCChE 2012 recognizes this may not be possible for some individuals (eg industry participants) so we will allow an extended abstract (not more than 2 pages) in place of a full paper when needed. Please indicate if you will be submitting a full paper or an extended abstract when you are prompted. Should you want to change your decision (presentation mode or full paper/extended abstract submission) or have any problem with the abstract submission, please email [email protected]
