We got a new info from our partner in Malaysia, there is upcoming architecture conference that will be held from 3 to 5 March 2012 in Penang, Malaysia. The name of this conference is ICWSAUD 2012. ICWSAUD is International Conference on Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design. The theme is “Intervention: Reaching Out to the Bottom Billion”. Reaching Out to the Bottom Billion The conference provides a platform for researches in sustainable architecture and urban design to discuss the challenges in addressing the bottom billion.
Globalisation with all its positive effects however, has left the bottom billion behind. The United Nation Millennium Goal of eradicating poverty by halve; fights hunger and disease; and provision of basic amenities to the poor by 2015 requires aggressive and collaborative efforts from the world community for it to be successfully achieved. The conference showcases trends and practices in the development of sustainable architecture and urban design and set a platform for the fraternity to take up the moral challenges in addressing the bottom billion. Themed “Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design Intervention: Reaching Out to the Bottom Billion”, it invites practitioners and academicians alike to share insights into the complexities faced when working to improve the quality of process and physical place for the use of the urban and rural poor. The conference intends to highlight new ideas and fresh approaches to enhance the living standards of the bottom billion and find ways to articulate effective strategies to narrow the gap between the have and the have not.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT/PAPER (Extended Abstract Submission Deadline: 25th March 2011)
Participants interested in presenting oral presentations are invited to submit their abstract (English) about 200 words in Microsoft Word [*.doc or *.docx] for consideration by the conference committee. The abstract should contain “Problem Statement, Approach, Result and Conclusion”.
All accepted fullpapers (after payment of your registration fee) will be published in the Conference Proceedings (a book in CDR softcopy) with ISBN, and its photocopy (hardcopy) will be provided to all participants who register during the conference. Each fullpaper length is preferably from 6 to 12 pages including figures, tables, references and acknowledgement.
Selected fullpapers (reached its minimum standard of journal level with good English writing depending on the evaluation results by reviewers and conference editor) will be published either in “special issues” by USM Press publication (ISBN indexed in Scopus) or by the International Transaction Journal of Engineering, Management, & Applied Science & Technologies (ITJEMAST – ISSN indexed in DOAJ and Sparc Europe).
